Update on EW Arvidson: I wanted to get you all updated on EW. He is in the MICU of UMMC in Baltimore. They are going to do a colonoscopy today to see from whence the blood was leaking. He had a couple of episodes of passing more blood yesterday. He has received 3 units of plasma, 3 units of red cells and more vitamin K to get his clotting back to normal. I think he has lost more blood to blood work than they put in. He is receiving good care. ERIC D. ARVIDSON

Here is an update on how little Chris Lewis from Tri-State Church is doing: He had brain surgery on Friday to remove a portion of the tumor and to put in a shunt and pic-line. The surgery was a very long one, but he came out of anethesia just fine and not at all as a happy camper. But that is good news, because he is alive and kicking! I talked with his mom, Judi, this morning. She has a specific prayer request that he can get rid of an infection he is fighting (the infection predated the surgery). Chris will be in PICU for another day and then will be transferred back to the 4th floor of the Children's Center. Cards can be sent to: Chris Lewis, Fourth floor, Johns Hopkins Children's Center, 600 North Wolfe Street Baltimore, MD 21287. IIf you are interested in visiting Chris, you are very welcome to do so. But please coordinate your visit through Dana Hadigian. You can reach dana at hadigian@verizon.net or 301-790-1165. Thank you for your continued prayers and concern for Chris,
Beth Ostoich for the Lewis family

This message comes from the Tri-State Church Prayer Chain: Please pray fervently for little Chris Lewis. He had a recent MRI that showed a new brain tumor growing on his pituitary. This is a particularly aggressive tumor and is the fourth tumor of Chris' short life (he is 8 years old). Chris was admitted to Hopkins yesterday afternoon. Doctors are doing surgery today to place a shunt that will relieve pressure in his brain. They will also place a port so Chris will not have to endure as many needle sticks. Doctors are discussing surgery but have told Bill & Judi that only a part of the tumor can be removed and that the tumor will only continuing growing. Judi has given me permission to share that doctors believe Chris will not live into adulthood. This news devastated them yesterday, but today Judi is more hopeful and clinging to the hope that our God can do anything, including healing Chris. Here is an address for cards: Chris Lewis, Fourth floor, Room 2, Johns Hopkins Children's Center, 600 North Wolfe Street,
Baltimore, MD 21287. Visits are welcomed by Judi & Bill, particularly since Judi is often there alone -- Bill cannot be there fulltime because of work. If you plan to visit, please reply to this email and we will put you in touch with Dana Hadigian, who is coordinating visits. If you want to encourage Bill Lewis on the days when he is back in Hagerstown and separated from the family, send cards to: Bill Lewis, 16822 Longfellow Ct., Hagerstown, MD 21740. Our God IS indeed a great God -- and, as Chris keeps singing, is "good all the time, even in the valley". Please keep praying for them. This is a valley like no other in their lives.

THANK YOU to everyone who made the sports dinner possible. A great night of fellowship with all teams. Scott McGregor and Luke Scott were great. THANK GOD for a night like this. We should all be proud for a league that steps up for Jesus Christ to make him known.

My son, Christian, was burned by a hot cup of coffee on 6/29. He tried to take a drink (from a cup that was left sit out) and thankfully, he missed his mouth, but he poured it on himself.

He has 2nd degree burns on his chest and stomach and a 3rd degree burn at his diaper line (he is 20 months old).

He is currently in the burn unit of the Mercy Children's hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Jack Finniff is a member of the Otterbein softball team and was one of the injured men in the accident this past Wednesday on Rt.66/I 70. Jack suffered a broken pelvis, broken femur, broken arm, cracked ribs, and collapsed lung. He had 9 hours of surgery yesterday to put plates in his pelvis and femur. They are doing surgery on his arm today. Please keep Jack and his family in your prayers. He is doing well, but has a long road ahead of him!
